dress / sandals / bag / sunnies / hat
Happy Tuesday friends! Hope all you momma’s had the best Mother’s Day! We kept it pretty simple, just went to church and brunch, then hung out at the house before a family dinner Sunday night!
I picked up white linen dress last week, and to be honest, I was surprised I liked it! Here’s the thing, when I go shopping I love to try on things that are a little outside my comfort zone. I’ve noticed that when I do that, I tend to be pleasantly surprised, though there are definitely times that it doesn’t work out and y’all never see those photos haha. The tie detail in the front is what drew me to this dress, but honestly I wasn’t sure about the length. Sometimes this length of dress can look a little matronly on me, especially with flat sandals.
For whatever reason I went ahead and tried it, and was surprised my how much I like it. It is also REALLY comfortable, and fits like a glove, so it’s easy to wear. Because this dress is a little longer, and doesn’t require any weird bra situation, it’s great for #momlife. I can be comfortable and not falling out of the dress while chasing my little people. But I also just think it’s a great dress for summer.
My usual dress size is a 4, but I ended up buying this one in a 2. The saleslady actually told me most people were going up a size, but the 6 was too big, and they didn’t have a 4, so I tried the 2. I think if you have a smaller chest (like me) you can either get your true size or size down. I have a feeling the people who had to size up are a little bustier than I am, because the 2 fits my chest perfectly.
This dress feels like an easy, casual summer staple to me, so I paired it with my favorite flat slides for this shoot because this is how I am most likely to wear it. I also love it with straw hat, that is becoming another summer staple for me.
Oh and about this bag…this is such a good tote for summer! I bought it for the rewardStyle conference last month because I wanted something larger, but still springy. This one is under $100 and you can totally fit a laptop in it. My ToteSavvy even fits into it perfectly. I use it sometimes when we go out to dinner with the kids because I can still fit everything I need for them in it.
xo, Loren
