So, I’ve recently discovered that high-waisted denim is my best friend, and for several reasons. The first (and most important in my opinion) is if you get the right pair for you, high-waisted denim is basically instant Spanx. A good pair will suck in your tummy and lift your butt. And for me, after two kids, this is a major bonus. The other reason I love high-waisted denim is because cropped shirts are EVERYWHERE right now. And remember that whole thing about sucking in my tummy after two kids? Yeah, not exactly trying to show any midriff for the time being. High-waisted denim allows me to wear the super cute cropped styles in a way that is appropriate for my body in it’s current state. This pair is my favorite because the rise is super high, and I have a super long torso!
And that brings me to this top. Every year my grandmother takes me shopping for my birthday. We have done it for years, and it is a fun way for us to spend time together…especially since I am one of the few people she ever shops with! I spotted this cute little top on our shopping trip a couple of weeks ago. Even though my birthday isn’t until Friday, we always go early because the holidays tend to get so crazy! Anyway, back to the top…it is one of my favorite purchases from our shopping trip! I think a wrap (or faux wrap in this case) style is universally flattering, plus I love the bell sleeves.
I chose my grey suede booties simply because these were the shoes I was wearing when I bought this outfit, and really liked the way they looked with it. To finish off this look I added some rose gold jewelry and big sunnies. I love this look so much I think I might wear it tonight for my birthday dinner with my family!
