Top: Banana Republic / Shorts: Anthropologie (love these and these) / Heels: Steve Madden / Clutch: Clare V. / Earrings: kate spade new york / Ring: David Yurman
I have totally been slacking on the blog posts because it has been so hot here in Houston that I don’t even want to go outside long enough to take photos of my looks. I wore this look last night and decided I would try to shoot it super quick before I started to sweat too badly!
My husband and I finally had the opportunity to have a date night last night (thanks to my parents for watching Liv)! We went out to America’s for Houston Restaurant Weeks, which is one of our favorite things about Houston. Many Houston area restaurants participate in in this month long event to raise money for the Houston Food Bank. I wanted to wear something a little fun, but wanted to be able to stay cool. I found these colorful shorts on sale at Anthropologie a couple of weeks ago. I decided to pair them with a basic black top since the shorts have a lot going on already, but I liked this top because it has a little bit of texture and kind of gives it a leather look (but since it is not leather or faux leather it doesn’t get too hot). I did get a little crazy mixing prints with this leopard clutch, but it’s new and I was dying to use it. Plus, in my opinion, leopard goes with everything! I wanted to wear a heel, but something simple, and I love these strappy heels from Steve Madden. I have a feeling I will get a lot of use out of them. I kept the jewelry minimal, just a simple pair of rhinestone studs and my usual rings.

Love the outfit! I totally agree that leopard is a neutral. This is a very edgy-wearable outfit, I might have to try something similar!
