ruana / tank / jeans / booties
Hello hello guys, happy Tuesday! I’m just down here in Houston dreaming of fall weather. We are still hitting 100 plus degrees everyday and I can’t even tell y’all how much I’m craving a drop in temperature. Fall is my favorite season for fashion, and I’m ready for it!
Today I’m sharing this look from White House Black Market. Luckily, this is one I might be able to get away with here soon! White House Black Market is known for its neutral color palette, but they also seem to throw in a few pops of color each season too. Neutrals are my favorite to style though, so their chic and timeless pieces are right up my alley.
I love a good poncho/ruana whatever you want to call sweaters like this. They call it a ruana on their site, so that’s what I’m sticking with. These are great for transitional weather. The look of them gives such a fall vibe without the bulk and warmth of a full on pullover sweater or cardigan.
Okay, another favorite trend of mine for fall is leather. I loooove a good leather piece, especially skirts and pants. But, leather can be warm, and, not to mention, expensive. A great way to achieve the same look without dropping hundreds of dollars and sweating like crazy is to grab a good pair of coated denim, like these. Coated denim is basically jeans that have a special finish to make them kind of look like leather. You get the comfort of jeans, but the edgy look of leather pants. I’m here for it.
Booties, especially peep-toe booties, are another great piece to take you from summer to fall. Again, they give you the fall look without the warmth of a taller boot. Down here in Houston, transitional pieces are a must if you couldn’t tell! I love this pair of peep-toe booties because of the cool silver button details on them, kind of gives them an edgy look. These are also great because they can work with jeans or dresses/skirts!
