I got this maxi dress a while back from Pink Blush Maternity and styled it with sandals. This time around, I wanted to see if I could give it more of a fall feel since the colors are so perfect for fall, so I opted for some brown ankle boots and a felted-wool hat. This look was definitely stepping out of my comfort zone a little. I see girls all the time wearing ankle boots with maxi dresses and making it work for cooler-weather seasons, but I have always been a little unsure of trying it myself. I think without the hat, if would not have worked as well. The hat keeps it looking a little more modern, where as without it, I feel like the look would have felt a little too western or “Little House on the Prairie,” if you know what I mean! I kept the rest of the accessories simple with just a couple of bracelets and my brown tote, since the print in the dress is so busy.
