Happy Friday babes! I hope you’re expecting to have a more fun weekend than we are! Hurricane Harvey is supposed to hit Houston late tonight and the entire city is completely freaking out. (Probably understandly so.) But no joke, I went to the grocery store yesterday morning on a whim just because my husband suggested it, and it was already chaos. People were stocking up on water and bread, among other things. I went out yesterday afternoon in search of batteries, flashlights, etc., and all that was almost impossible to find. We are expecting to lose power at this point, and just hoping it’s not for more than a couple of days.
Now for something less depressing, how cute is this top?! I love a good floral top that can transition into fall. I picked this one up a couple of weeks ago at Nordstrom. It has the cutest ruffle details along the sleeves, and I love the lace-up neckline. The colors are perfect to wear year-round, so it can totally be worn now as well into fall and winter. This cutie is under $50 too! I’m wearing a small here. For my taller/longer torso readers, it is a tad on the shorter side, but I still stuck with my normal size. It’s totally fine if I wear it with high-rise jeans, which I typically wear anyway.
Speaking of jeans, this pair is my new favorite. These are by Madewell, which is rapidly becoming one of my favorite brands of jeans. I don’t know what it is about them, but they are always just so good. These are the perfect classic dark wash with a high-rise waist and skinny leg. I typically buy a size 27 in jeans, but was talked into a size 26 in these because they were a little loose in my lower legs. I think the 26 was the right call though, especially since jeans tend to stretch out while you wear them.
I finished this look off with grey and pink accessories to tie into the floral print of the top. Can we talk about this belt for a second though? Y’all, it’s velvet, and under $50. Do yourself a favor and buy it. It also comes in black! My bag is old, but I love this style and I linked a couple of super similar options for y’all above. These earrings have been a favorite the last few months. This light pink color tends to go with so many different things, and almost works as a neutral.
Have a good weekend babes! And if you are in south Texas, stay safe. If they tell you to evacuate, I would do it, and not wait until the last minute!
xo, Loren
