2019 is going to be my year for my health you guys! (So help keep me accountable haha). I’m not looking to make any major changes like lose a specific amount of weight or start dieting, but I just want to be HEALTHY, whatever that means. I think for me, that means a couple of small changes to my daily life.
I’d like to change my relationship with food. I’m one of those people who “rewards” myself with food. I realize that sounds ridiculous, but if I ate healthy one day, I can have fries the next. That doesn’t work however because it just becomes a vicious cycle. The thing is, I actually truly like most healthy food. The problem is that I also like a lot of unhealthy foods too. I want to start putting food into my body that helps it to feel good, not just look good.
I also want to start exercising daily. Truth be told, I haven’t REALLY exercised in a long time. Then back in July, I had surgery on two different parts of my body that restricted a lot of what I could do. Because I couldn’t do it for so long, once I could, I just didn’t start back up. Am I overweight? No. Could I be skinnier? Sure. But for me, I just want to feel better. I’m tired a lot, my brain feels foggy, and my entire body feels like it is completely lacking any muscular tissue.
Of course working out is hard with two littles, so I’ve got a few things planned (more to come on that later) to help make it easier for me to work out at home. Because really, that’s my only option unless we join a gym that offers childcare, and the closest one to us still takes about half an hour to get to. And on top of that, loading up the kids takes even more time! But, I think I’ve got a plan, and I think it’s one I can stick to.
One thing that really helps to motivate me is new workout clothes, and Nordstrom carries all my favorite brands! From Nike, to Adidas, to their own brand (my fave), they’ve got me covered when it comes to new workout gear!
I mean, can we talk about these leopard print leggings?! It’s no secret that anything leopard print has a good chance of making it’s way into my closet, but I am especially obsessed with these! Unfortunately, this exact pair sold out SUPER quick before this post’s go-live date. BUT, there is good news! this pair is nearly identical!
I mentioned before that one of my favorite workout brands is Nordstrom’s own line. That line is called Zella, and I’m always finding the best things! Plus, most of the line is under $100, and the high-waisted leggings are one of my tried and true favorites. This pullover is one of my Zella finds, and it comes in six colors!
Well, I’m off to go make a green smoothie! Have a good rest of the week babes!
xo, Loren
