A few weeks ago I spotted a gorgeous black, lace mock neck top and immediately fell in love with it. Unfortunately, it was sold out EVERYWHERE. (Like, I REALLY searched for it haha!) I finally spotted this at Anthropologie when my hubby and I were in Kansas City doing little shopping.
I love how versatile this top is. But my favorite thing about this top is that it is so subtly sexy, while still being super classy and chic. To be honest, when I saw it on the hanger, I thought it might look a bit pilgrim-ish, with the banded sleeves AND the turtleneck. I tried it on anyway though (because I REALLY wanted a black lace top like this) and loved it on! It comes in some other colors too, but I think the black is what makes it so chic. And to be honest, I think some of the other colors definitely could give it that pilgrim-ish vibe I was referring to!
This top could be paired with lots of different things (I actually just wore it out to dinner with burgundy faux leather skinnies and black over the knee boots), but I wanted an easy, casual holiday look for this post. I kept it simple with a classic pair of dark wash skinny jeans. These are my absolute favorite pair of classic jeans. I love the way they fit, and they have plenty of stretch to them to make them comfortable. The best thing about them though is that they hit at the ankle. For reference, I am 5’8″. So much shorter than that and they may not be an ankle length. But, my point is, I love ankle length jeans because even though they are shorter, they can elongate your legs, especially when wearing a flat or pump (anything that is more of an “open” shoe). The classic dark wash on these jeans is also perfect for just about any occasion where jeans are appropriate.
To give this look that holiday feel, I added my red pumps and some fun, sparkly tassel earrings. This particular pair of earrings is by Bauble Bar, but I think this exact style is sold out. I’ve linked a few other pretty options though. And side not: Bauble Bar is running a sale right now, where just about everything is 30% off…so go check it out!
