Guess what you guys! It’s my favorite time of year! In just over a week the best sale of the year begins, and I can’t wait to shop it! If you’ve been living under a rock and aren’t familiar with the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, let me explain it to you. Every year, Nordstrom puts select fall pieces on sale at the BEGINNING of the season, but only for a limited time.
KEY DATES:
Now, here’s the important part. There are two parts to this sale, early access, and when it opens to the public. Early access to the Anniversary Sale begins on Thursday, July 12th. To be able to shop during this time, you must be a Nordstrom credit card holder. And believe me y’all, it’s worth it to have that card, because the sale items sell out SO quickly. If you wait until the sale opens to the public, many of your favorite pieces will be sold out.
However, if you still aren’t into the idea of opening up a credit card (believe me, I get it) the sale does open to the public on July 20th and runs through August 5th!

I’ll be shopping the sale as soon as possible to be sure to share all of my favorite finds with you guys. So definitely keep checking back here and on Instagram (@wearandwhenblog) to see what I’m shopping from the sale. I’ll also be posting try-on sessions and reviews on my Instagram stories with shoppable links.
But, for now, here’s a little preview of a what caught my eye in this year’s catalog! You can take a look at the full catalog here.

TIPS & TRICKS:
If you’re able to, I definitely recommend shopping the sale as soon as you can. I’m usually there on the first day of early access as soon as the doors open (and so is everyone else). But I also like to log on to the website around 2am CST, when the sale goes live. The deals during the sale are worth it too, with many items being about 30% off their full price.
Both in store and online, I usually check out the shoes first. This is a great time to snag some boots at a really good price, since boots are usually upwards of $100. I think last year I bought like 4 pairs, and wore them all fall and winter long. The shoes can go fast, so I like to hit up that section first. Boots are my go-to, but Nike sneakers can go pretty quick as well.
After that I check out the clothing. Some of the top selling items last year were cardigans, basic tees & wardrobe staples like lace trim camis, faux leather jackets, and Zella brand leggings. I always make sure to check out those categories first. This sale is also a great time to snag a pair or two of designer jeans on sale.
After that I’ll head to the beauty department and see what kind of sets they have. Each year it seems like they have sale exclusive sets that you can’t find anywhere else. I saw this year that the T3 hair dryer is part of the sale, and trust me, if you’re in the market for a new hair dryer, you’ll want to grab one of these at the sale price! I’m also highly interested in the Diptyque candle set. These candles are AMAZING, but pricey, so snagging them at a lower price would be fab.
Once I finish shopping for myself, I usually go check out the kids’ section. This is when I try to get Mason some new Nikes, and Liv some new Mini Melissas (her favorite brand of shoes) and maybe some booties. They have a pair of glitter pink Uggs this year that have her name written all over them. After checking out kids’ shoes I’ll head over to their clothing section and grab Liv a couple of dresses, and some Nike and/or Under Armour pieces for Mason.
Since my husband usually has the fewest requests/needs, I shop for him last. But I usually grab him some dress shirts (he loves the Nordstrom brand ones) and maybe a Vineyards Vines shirt or two.
If you are a cardholder, you have at least one “Triple Points Day” where you can earn triple the points on each purchase. Since I tend to buy so much during the sale, I always use one of my triple points days when I go so I can get some Nordstrom Notes to use later! If you don’t have a Nordstrom Card yet, you can sign up for one here.
Well, that’s about all I’ve got for now! I can’t wait to share all my find with you all in a week and a half!
xo, Loren
