I am so excited to share this post with you guys today! (Sorry about the terrible image quality, I just snapped these pics on my phone yesterday while we did this!). When I was a kid my grandparents used to live in Wichita, Kansas. During the summers, my brother and I would go visit by ourselves for a week, something we always really looked forward to. One of the things I remember most about those visits is that she always had a fresh batch of peanut butter play-doh ready for us when we got there!
Peanut butter play-doh is a super simple recipe for edible “play-doh” for kids, and it’s one of my favorite childhood traditions. When I had kids I couldn’t wait to start making it for them. It’s perfect for weeks like this one, or during Christmas break, when your littles aren’t in school and are getting a little stir-crazy. And it’s SO easy to make.
What you need:
1/2 cup smooth peanut butter
1 cup non-fat dry milk
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup honey
Just mix all the ingredients together, wrap in wax paper or cling wrap, and store in the fridge. Storing it in the fridge helps it all to “set”, but when you’re ready to use it, be sure to take it out of the fridge for an hour or two ahead of time to let it soften.
Just use a rolling pin to roll it out like you’re making Christmas cookies, and use cookie cutters to cut out the shapes! My kids had such a blast doing this yesterday! And honestly, it’s delicious too. Liv couldn’t stop eating it (and neither could I)!
