Shirt: J.Crew / Denim: AG Jeans / Booties: Tory Burch (old, similar here and here) / Bag: Louis Vuitton / Sunnies: Karen Walker / Earrings: Stella & Dot
I’m a sucker for a good button down shirt. Especially during this time of year. If the shirt gives me any holiday feels, I will buy it. I can’t tell you how many plaid shirts I have in greens, reds, or a combination of the two. For whatever reason, a plaid button down shirt in the right colors makes me feel like it’s fall!
Most of my plaid button downs come from J.Crew or Madewell because I like their fit the best. This one is from J.Crew, and is SO perfect for the holidays. And even better, it’s actually NOT flannel, so it’s great for warmer climates, like Houston, when you still want to pretend like fall is happening. 🙂 This was the last outfit I shot on this shooting day, so I kept it on for the rest of the day, and loved how comfortable it was. This top would be cute so many different ways too: with black jeans and leopard-print shoes, with a down vest and riding boots, or with an army green parka and some booties.
When I was planning this outfit for shooting, I actually had it paired with leopard heels…because I love to mix plaid with leopard. However, the photographer I was working with thought it would be cute to shoot with the pumpkins in the background, so I went with these booties instead, since I already had them with me to use for another look we had already shot. These particular booties are several years old, but I’ve linked some other good options above.
Oh and I have to tell y’all about my earrings. These are from Stella & Dot and can be worn 4 different ways. I actually bought them this summer because they come with a fun turquoise tassel detail, which I simply took off to make them look like this. But I love the finish of these earrings because the gold isn’t so “bright”, it’s really more of a brass, which I love for casual outfits.
Oh…and one more thing…this shirt is 25% off today with code “STARTSHOPPING”. You’re welcome. 🙂
xo, Loren
