Happy Friday y’all! Yesterday was one of those days in motherhood where you head out, the sun is shining, you’ve got some fun things planned, and your hopes are high, only to have those hopes come crashing down thanks to reality. Honestly, it’s not as dramatic as it sounds, I really mean that in more of a funny, light-hearted tone, buy WHY can’t the day ever meet my expectations?!
We left early in the morning to take Liv to her ballet studio for recital pictures. We got back in the car when it was done, and I had to make a phone call to Loft to price adjust a big order I had just placed a couple days ago. Mason and Liv both yelled at me and at each other during the entire phone call (God bless that poor woman on the other end).
Afterwards I had to go pick something up at an outdoor shopping center near the house, so we got lunch outside afterwards. As soon as we sit down at the table on the patio, Liv starts complaining that we are sitting outside. MIND YOU it’s like 75 degrees and sunny…literally the perfect day, and girlfriend wants to sit inside because she “doesn’t like the sun” (we were completely covered in shade by the way). Then we got popsicles and went to play at the outdoor green space in the shopping center. Mason thrived. Liv, once again, complained about the sun. The funny thing is, this is the kind of weather Houstonians DREAM of. Because in a couple short months, it will be 108 degrees, sunny, and humid. It will be miserable. And she is complaining about today’s perfect day…I can’t y’all. We got home and she went right to sleep during quiet time, so clearly somebody needed a nap.
Okay that was a long, unnecessary story. Anyway, this amazing fringe skirt was another one of my rewardStyle conference looks. I LOVED this one. Here’s the thing about this conference. A lot of us shop at the same places, so you definitely run the risk of matching someone at least once during the three days we are there. I thought by ordering this to wear to a cocktail party instead of just another dress, I was being a little different. No one wore it during the party, but someone did have it on earlier in the day styled completely differently (which honestly gave me major inspo).
I picked up this bodysuit right before conference in both black and white and I’m so glad I did! It’s from Free People and it’s a really great basic with a fun little detail. The entire backing of it is actually mesh. By the way, if you’re tall and like bodysuits, Free People is honestly the best. I can actually get my true size most of the time and they are still long enough!
Have a good weekend y’all!
xo, Loren
