How fun is this dress y’all! I bought this during the Shopbop fall sale a few weeks ago. I actually have this dress by the same designer, and love it. So this year during the sale I had to see what other dresses like this I could find, and settled on this one. I will tell you though, in the white one I bought I small, so naturally I ordered a small in the striped one as well. When it came in it was a little smaller fit than I expected, so I sized up to a medium and it fits perfectly!
I pretty much bought this dress to wear with over the knee boots. I know that sounds silly, but I really love the way dresses with a ruffled hem like this look with over the knee boots. I wanted a pair of brown boots, so I ordered this pair by Sole Society. I actually thought they would be more of a cognac color (a little bit lighter, more tan), so when I initially opened the box I was slightly disappointed. But as soon as I started trying them on with different things, I decided I really love the darker brown. What I like about this style of boot in particular, is that it has a slight heel. You’ve heard me talk before about how I just don’t wear tall heels anymore. But I have found (for me at least), that over the knee boots with a slight heel (like maybe 2 inches or so) tend to be more flattering on me than a completely flat style.
To finish off this look I went with my favorite sunglasses and mixed up the prints a little bit with my leopard clutch. I love to throw leopard in with stripes or plaid to make an outfit a little more fun!
I have a feeling this outfit will be on repeat over the next several weeks. I might even wear it for our family’s Thanksgiving festivities!
