Hope you all are hanging in there with all this social distancing we are supposed to be practicing. One thing I’ve realized over the last few days is how often we actually leave our house. I am, however, thankful that this isn’t a hurricane type situation and we aren’t without electricity or water!
Anyway, I’m hoping to share a little more content with you all in the coming weeks than I usually do since I won’t be running around as much. Today I wanted to start with my Spring Denim Guide. These pieces are the ones I’ve been grabbing the most lately. I’ve included a couple of denim jackets, some of my favorite shorts, and white jeans as well!
Let me start with the denim jackets. This lighter wash one is and under $100 option from Levi’s. I have had this one for a couple of years and am always reaching for it for an easy layering piece. I wear an XS in this one. I recently also got this oversized option from Madewell (25% off right now with code WHATASALE). I just wanted a jacket with a different fit and really liked the wash of this one. I got my true size small.
Next I’ll talk about the shorts. If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I hate shorts, especially short and tight shorts. These are the two styles I invested in this spring. They are both from Agolde and have a high rise and a little longer length. This pair is the first one I ordered and you guys have been loving when I’ve shared them. I also just got in this pair and the fit is very similar, with maybe just a slightly more relaxed leg.
Okay, on to white jeans. We all know this is a sensitive subject. For whatever reason it is SO hard to find flattering white jeans, but I think I’ve finally figured out the key to it. Don’t buy skinny jeans. Or if you do, buy skinny jeans that don’t have a super tight ankle. The straighter leg fit seems to make my legs look longer than if they get tight down at the bottom. This pair from Madewell is a fit that I have in several washes of denim, but the white has some stretch to it. Size down if you go with these. This pair from Agolde is another one that I have other washes in, and again, size down in the white because it’s a little stretchier. These are probably the closest to a true skinny jean if that’s what you usually like. I haven’t actually orderedthis pair from Paige yet, but I have this fit of jeans in two other washes and I LOVE them.
Now onto the blue denim styles. These Perfect Vintage Jeans from Madewell are one of my most worn pairs ever. I got these in the fall and they transition super well into spring. They have a more rigid fit, but really kind of form to your body (even after washes) the more you wear them (I wear a 25). This pair is another Madewell favorite. Don’t let the horribly styled photo fool you. I have these and wear them ALL the time. They have a curvy fit, so anyone with a butt (me), who likes a high waist will love these. I have the size 26 in these. Oh, and they are under $100!
This distressed pair was one of my best-sellers last summer. These always sell out and get restocked all year long. I love the relaxed fit of them, and they are super comfy! Size down in these as well. They have a rigid fit, but they run large. So whatever you would usually wear in a rigid fit, go down one. I have these in a 26. This last pair that has the darkest wash is that same fit as the white Paige ones I talked about above. These are a just a really good, everyday, classic pair to have on hand.
