I just can’t get enough of maxi dresses right now. They are so easy to throw on, plus they keep me cool in the Houston heat (which is about to get a lot worse in the coming months)! I have always loved maxis, but now that I am pregnant (in the summer, no less) they have become a wardrobe staple for me. I love that this particular one is not a maternity dress. I have really been trying to shop for pieces that work with a baby bump, but aren’t true maternity pieces so that I have some great things to wear after this baby is born too. Plus, for the most part, maternity clothes are just not cute, and they can get really pricey.
I wore this outfit this past weekend when we took a day trip out to San Marcos, TX. It was a little cooler in the morning, so I layered this dress with a denim vest. It was just enough to add a little something extra for the morning, but still keep me cool throughout the afternoon. This bucket bag from Sole Society was a great choice for the day because it is so lightweight, holds quite a bit, and I can easily throw it over my shoulder or wear it as a cross body.
