Spring is finally here y’all! Today I’m talking all about some of favorite pieces for transitioning into this warmer season, perfect for those days when it’s warm and cool all in the same 12 hours. Of course, in Houston, those days are a bit rare (those are the days you will find everyone in the city sitting outside on a restaurant patio hoping the amazing weather never ends)!
J.Crew has always been my go-to for classic pieces that stay in style season after season. In fact, I bought this versatile utility jacket almost FOUR years ago, and they keep bringing it back every year. This jacket was one of those purchases that has definitely paid off. Aside from the fact that it’s a timeless piece that I can wear year after year, it is perfect for those days when you need an extra layer but not one that’s too heavy. I’m always throwing it on over a light sweater, a simple tee, or a chambray shirt!
Another piece I love for spring is a good, lightweight sweater (yep, typically a striped one). In fact, I wish we actually had more days where a “spring sweater” was appropriate, but often times it is still a little too warm. Nonetheless, this one was a great find. It’s almost as thin as a tee, so it’s perfect for Houston, and I love the slouchy fit.
We all know that my go-to bottoms are jeans, that’s what I pretty much live in. But you guys, I recently decided to try and branch out and discovered that there are other amazing pants out there! Like these skinny cargo pants! I fell in love with these as soon as I tried them on. In fact, I ended buying them in two colors! They have a higher rise, which I find super flattering, and the perfect amount of stretch to make them comfortable. I also love the zipper detail at the ankle.
